Todd Martz
Dr. Martz specializes in observing the marine CO2 system using in-situ sensors. The Martz Lab builds and deploys autonomous chemical sensors used for studying ocean biogeochemical processes such as rates of community metabolism and gas exchange. We work with sensors deployed on a variety of platforms including surface and subsurface moorings and profiling floats. Of particular interest when deploying such sensors is to improve our understanding of both natural human induced rates of change in ocean chemistry over a wide range of scales in space and time, not easily observed using classical ship-based observing techniques.
