Emily Bockmon

I am a graduate student in marine chemistry at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. My research interests include carbonate chemistry, and specifically the expected and observed changes in carbon chemistry of the ocean. Much of my research to this point has focused of the development of an aquarium system that can carefully control the seawater chemistry, allowing for close investigation into the impacts of ocean acidification on organisms. The system is specifically designed to address synergistic effects of CO2, O2 and temperature. Additionally I have participated in two CLIVAR cruises which work to characterize and evaluate physical parameters, including carbonate chemistry, in the open ocean around the world.
