Maggie Johnson

I am starting the first year of a PhD at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in Dr. Jennifer Smith's lab. I recently completed a master's degree in Biology at California State University, Northridge where my thesis research was focused on understanding the effects of ocean acidification on tropical crustose coralline algae. My overall research interests are to understand the physiological and ecological implications of climatic stressors for tropical calcified algae, and specifically how ocean acidification effects growth and calcification of calcified algae, and how these physiological effects may influence ecological interactions within the coral reef community.
